About Me

Hi, I’m Amy Rose. I’m not used to writing about myself as, if I’m honest, I’m not very interesting but I guess I will start at the beginning.

I was born in a lovely town called Ashford, which is in the county of Kent located in the South East of England. Roughly 60 minutes by train from London. I lived in Ashford until I was 8 years old and then moved to Nottinghamshire, East Midlands. Nottinghamshire is probably most famous for the legend of Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest. It is a lovely place to live with plenty of green spaces and woodland to really get those creative juices flowing. I do miss being close to the sea though!

I have always been somewhat of an artist. As a child, I would spend hours copying pictures of Pokemon and other cartoon characters. I once even drew a huge dolphin on the bedroom wall of my childhood home, when my mum was redecorating. I often wonder if it is still visible today.

After my GCSE’s I went straight into employment and gave up drawing and painting for around 10 years before finally picking up a pencil in 2015. Since that time, I have regained my passion for drawing and found that I have a keen interest in drawing animals. With that returned passion, I made myself available for commissions and have drawn pets for people all around the world! This is something I am very proud of.

Since 2015, I have worked solely with Coloured Pencils, which i enjoy immensely but within the last year, I have found myself working with watercolour paints more and more and have broadened my subject matter to include botanicals, landscapes, seascapes and not forgetting my trusty animals.

I am available for commission and you can find my prices under the heading “price list”. You are also welcome to send me a message to discuss your needs further.
